TURNBACK TAX GRANT COMMITTEE

NOTICE

The North Omaha “Turnback Tax” Grant Committee will hold a public hearing on Monday, August 26, 2024 at 5:30 pm at Metropolitan Community College, Fort Omaha Campus, 5300 N 30th St, Building 21, Room 112 Omaha, NE 68111. The event can also be accessed virtually via Zoom (link and instructions below).

The public hearing will be held to receive public comment on grant proposals that 1) showcase important historical aspects, or 2) assist with the reduction of street and gang violence, or 3) assist with small business and entrepreneurship growth within defined areas within North Omaha. The application and instructions to request “Turnback Tax” grant funds will be posted on August 26 at https://www.douglascounty-ne.gov/ and https://www.cityofomaha.org/

4.  Citizens Comments:  This is an opportunity for members of the audience to be heard at this time for a maximum of 5 minutes on any topic not on the agenda as it relates to the Douglas County Criminal Justice System. However, under the Open Meetings Act, agenda items should give reasonable notice of the matters to be considered by the Douglas County Criminal Justice System Management Council so that the public will know which matters are under consideration. As a result, members of the Management Council will not engage in discussions, conversations, debates, or take action on any item presented during Citizen Comments. During Citizen Comments, the Chair will keep order and a citizen may be called “out of order” for disruptive conduct or behavior.
