We haven’t even had the mayor’s election yet and the race for the Nebraska Senate seat is already heating up.
Last week, shortly after independent candidate Dan Osborn announced he had a poll showing him in a statistical tie with Pete Ricketts, President Trump announced his endorsement of our incumbent senator.

Kudos to Congressman Don Bacon for his attempt to regain control of tariffs. Congressman Bacon proposed a bill to return the power of adding tariffs on foreign goods to the House and Senate where it used to be and take away power from the President.

If truth be told I’m kind of bummed that Mike McDonnell didn’t make it out of the primary.
Now don’t get me wrong, as an Omaha citizen I’m very happy knowing that there are two decent qualified candidates running for mayor. If either John Ewing or Jean Stothert wins the general election Omaha will be in good hands.

President Trump put some pressure on Governor Pillen, so Governor Pillen then put some pressure on the members of Nebraska’s Government, Military, and Veterans Affairs Committee and got winner-take-all to go before the General Assembly. Pillen hopes that if Nebraska buckles to the wishes of President Trump, the President will support him or at least not go against him, and support Pillens former foe Chuck Herbster should he decide to run for governor again.

Let me start by saying, for the record, that I support any and all religious beliefs as long as they are not using their God as a tool to justify hurting other people. As you know, historically some churches of all religious denominations have started wars or terrorist attacks in the name of their God.
