NOTICE OF MEETING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a meeting of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Ralston, Nebraska, will be held at 5:30 P.M. on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, in the Council Chambers at Ralston City Hall. An agenda, which is kept continuously current, is available for public inspection at the office of the City Clerk at City Hall.

Ralston City Council Regular Meeting
Tuesday, October 19, 2021
The complete minutes are on file in the office of the City Clerk and are available for public inspection during regular business hours or on the City’s website at www.cityofralston.com.
The Ralston City Council met in regular session on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 5:30 PM at Ralston City Hall. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Roll was called with the following present: Mayor Groesser and Council members Brousek, Fideline, Kavanaugh, and Preis. Council members Krause and Sanchez were absent. The agenda was available at City Hall for public inspection and posted prior to the meeting. The legal notice for the meeting was published in the Omaha Daily Record. Claims listed are approved and part of these minutes.
Pastor Lynette Janssen, Ralston United Church of Christ, gave the invocation. Mayor Groesser welcomed the press and guests. Groesser said the meeting is subject to the Nebraska Open Meetings Act. A copy of the Act is posted at the rear of the Council Chambers and is available to view on the City’s website at www.cityofralston.com.
Reviewed the following items under the consent agenda: (1) Minutes from the October 5, 2021 regular city council meeting; (2) Claims; (3) Monthly Financial Statements – September 2021; and (4) Department Head and/or Commission Reports. Moved and seconded to approve the Consent Agenda. Aye: Brousek, Fideline, Kavanaugh, and Preis. Nay: None. Absent: Krause and Sanchez. Motion carried.
Bohling reported he is working through the final year end numbers for the audit. Leonardo reported the new cruiser was picked up last week and the old cruiser has been stripped down. The new officers are starting their third week of phase 2; the crime communications is working with Public Works on the security system; the diaper drive will begin tomorrow; Food for Fines starts November 1st and runs through December 15th; the No Shave October/November event has begun. Krajewski reported on arena events: Hoppe reported on a new item in terms of allowing the public to communicate with the City, TextMyGov.
Moved and seconded to approve the Ralston Volunteer Fire Department annual liquor exemption. Aye: Brousek, Fideline, Kavanaugh, and Preis. Nay: None. Absent: Krause and Sanchez. Motion carried.
Moved and seconded to approve the amendment to the agreement between the City of Ralston, Nebraska and the Fraternal Order of Police, Ralston Lodge #21 to add Section 29.2. Aye: Brousek, Fideline, Kavanaugh, and Preis. Nay: None. Absent: Krause and Sanchez. Motion carried.
Public comment: There was no public comment.
Council comment: Kavanaugh commented that it was good seeing the Archives open again. Groesser congratulated Rich Shively and all the people that worked very hard to remodel the Archives and make it a very cool place. They have done a lot to preserve what is in that building. There was a ribbon cutting and Lemoyne Johnson cut the ribbon.
The meeting adjourned at 5:44 PM. The next regular meeting is Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 5:00 PM.
